RE: Empire at War EAW and FOC multiplayer Fix - TheWiz - 09-26-2010 Glad it worked for you hainsolo. Zookee, the NAT issue is not related to the game, but most likely your router. Upnp needs to be enabled and the game has to be added to the windows firewall exception list. TheWiz RE: Empire at War EAW and FOC multiplayer Fix - shadwulf - 11-19-2010 Hi Wiz, If you can help me fix this problem, i will give you a nice donation for sure. when I tried to run your patch, I got an error saying that I need to first get the proper versions of .Net Framwork V. 2.0.50727. I think i have a newer version automatically updated. Any ideas? My operating system is Windows XP If you have any suggestions please email me at awilliams@orscheln.com Thanks! RE: Empire at War EAW and FOC multiplayer Fix - Shimrra - 12-12-2010 Probably you have to install the old .Net Framework version 2.0, because 3.5 doesn't include 2.0. Furthermore, this patch is really awesome, how have you found out which reconfiguration you have to make in the hosts-file? One last thing I've mentioned: Your program is just working when the primary partition is C:\. Maybe you shouldn't give the program a static path. A friend of me has used your program, but failed, because his primary partition was F:\. I've used your changes in the hosts to write a new program, path independent. It's just meant as little hint for you. regards Shimrra UEaW-Leader RE: Empire at War EAW and FOC multiplayer Fix - Walipino - 12-25-2010 I am getting the same problem like some other people where the patch does not have sufficient access to c:windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts. I am running on Vista 32 bit. This is the message I get in the details: See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts' is denied. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options) at System.IO.StreamWriter.CreateFile(String path, Boolean append) at System.IO.StreamWriter..ctor(String path, Boolean append, Encoding encoding, Int32 bufferSize) at System.IO.StreamWriter..ctor(String path, Boolean append) at System.IO.File.AppendText(String path) at EAW___FOC_Patch.Form1.button1_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mevent) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBase.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) ************** Loaded Assemblies ************** mscorlib Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.4206 (VistaSP2GDR.050727-4200) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v2.0.50727/mscorlib.dll ---------------------------------------- EAW + FOC Patch Assembly Version: 1.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 1.0.0.0 CodeBase: file:///C:/Users/Walip/Downloads/EAW%20+%20FOC%20Patch%20(3).exe ---------------------------------------- System.Windows.Forms Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.4016 (NetFxQFE.050727-4000) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Windows.Forms/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Windows.Forms.dll ---------------------------------------- System Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.4205 (VistaSP2GDR.050727-4200) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Drawing Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.4016 (NetFxQFE.050727-4000) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Drawing/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Drawing.dll ---------------------------------------- ************** JIT Debugging ************** To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this application or computer (machine.config) must have the jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section. RE: Empire at War EAW and FOC multiplayer Fix - Walipino - 12-25-2010 Sorry for double post, but could I copy the things in the patch from my friend? It works for him, so I could take whatever the patch changed and apply it manually to my files since the patch can not access my "hosts" file. Would you please tell me what the patch changes? RE: Empire at War EAW and FOC multiplayer Fix - TheWiz - 12-27-2010 These are the following entries needed to manually patch. I have hosted the hosts file on Dropbox for anyone who needs to manually overwrite their hosts. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1525839/hosts RE: Empire at War EAW and FOC multiplayer Fix - jiso - 05-01-2011 Hello. I've never posted here, so I'll start by saying thanks for the effort to make up for where they dropped the ball! I tried the patch and I get an error message too, only it says, "The device is not ready." I tried changing system32 from read-only, even in safe mode, and still the same thing. Any ideas? Thanks. RE: Empire at War EAW and FOC multiplayer Fix - TheWiz - 05-06-2011 Have you tried manually patching things? TheWiz RE: Empire at War EAW and FOC multiplayer Fix - TheWiz - 05-06-2011 Have you tried manually patching things? TheWiz RE: Empire at War EAW and FOC multiplayer Fix - jiso - 05-07-2011 Not sure what that entails. I think my problem has to do with the fact that my main volume is named "H:" rather than "C:". I've had a problem with installation before because of this. At any rate, I've done something so that the error message now says, "Could not find a part of the path 'c;\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts'". |
