ive tried this patch but the game still freezes for me, both on FOC and just EAW. i bought the gold version off of steam btw, and am running windows xp. with FOC when it freezes i show 0 on everything when entering multiplayer (players online, games, etc) but in EAW regular i show what would be correct stats, but the game freezes and alt ctrl deleting does NOT bring up task manager - in EAW regular - for me to close the program, but does in FOC resulting in me having to force shut down on the pc >_<. im running e4500 core 2 duo, 8600gt super clock, 3 gigs ram, windows xp pro sp 3

Hey sapphira
Because you are running windows XP, the program did not automatically prompt for administrator access. Simply right click the EXE and run as administrator and it will install.

well i am the administrator, and there is no real "run as administrator" as i havent actually set up a pass for it (nor do i know if theres a preset password), but even when i choose my self under the drop down menu it still gives me that window...let me try to copy and paste the text in the details box for you...one sec...

i just had a thought, and i could be wrong. im on att internet, and having the modem/router combo (one box). ive forwarded the designated ports for this game BUT...could it possibly have anything to do with the issue im having?

Ihonor your de bugging but I assure you that you do not have the right permissions set to right the program. The first error message is access denied, which means that the program can not access the system files to launch the patch. Please do some Googling on setting admin permissions, because even with you being an admin, you are not the system admin.

ya ive been googling for about 10-20 minutes with different searches and ive found zip on running programs as admin in xp, nor have i ever heard of the need since im the only user on this particular computer (as in im basically the super admin). im frustrated and tired at this point >_<
edit: o ffs -.- i went to the file in question and unchecked read only.. ~sigh~ ya this is part of why i hate pc's but also part of why i love them lol
edit II : confirmed to work on both FOC AND original. thanks wiz for the patch and sorry for any problems i may have caused being such a hard head lol....should have been the FIRST thing i checked

I tried to install the patch and I get this error:
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click quit, the application will close immediately.
Access to the path 'c:\windows\system32\hosts' is denied.
Is there anyway to fix this or get this patch to work? I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Please help me to get this working, thank you very much!
edit: Just would like to say that I did manage to get the patch working by disabling the read-only option on my entire system32 folder. When I tried to do it to the individual files that gave me problems, it kept enabling the read-only again. I would also like to give a heads up that this patch does work for the steam version of the game. Thanks a bunch!
