If you don't have the 5.24 bios, you don't have the E01 motherboard.

I don't see anything about a revision though. How do you find the revision and if it is E01?
Thanks for your feedback.
Go to CPUID.com and download/run CPU-Z
Click on the Moptherboard tab.
It's all there.

I received my PC back from HP 12/18/2009 with a new motherboard and 5.24 BIOS and this morning 12/25/2009 it would not come out of sleep mode. It is also doing funny things like when you go to email your sticky notes and gadgets show up on the screen until you right click and then they are gone. As soon as I received my PC back I ran Belarc and it shows a different SS # for the MB and shows 5.24 on the BIOS. I am getting real tired of HP incompetence you would think they would really search out and find what is causing the problem and REALLY FIX IT. Now i am just waiting for it to blue screen or freeze up while I am using it. How is the law suit going anyway? And has anyone heard anything about the one in U.S. Court in Calif.? Has anyone else had the same problem after getting a new motherboard and having BIOS 5.24 installed? I have the TRUCKEE 1.04E01 motherboard so why am I still having these problems.? I have also had problems with both of my drives E & F / DVD & CD.

Someone else on the HP site also reported receiving a new motherboard with the 5.24 BIOS and it still has the cold start freezing problem. So either HP is now putting the new BIOS on the older revisions of motherboard or they're still using the crap components to make the E01 motherboard that were causing the problem on the earlier revisions. HP should just offer every one with the probem a new computer with a different motherboard. I'm interested in seeing what HP comes out with next, if they finally get it through their thick heads that the IPMTB-TK motherboard is crap and stop using it!!! I noticed on their other Elite models they're using MSI motherboards now. I know I'll never buy another computer with a Pegatron motherboard.

It's just been confirmed on the HP Support Forum by a customer with the 5.24 BIOS, HP is in fact installing it on the old defective A05 motherboards!!! There is no longer any guarantee that if your system has the 5.24 BIOS that you have an E01 revised motherboard. HP continues to try and pass of the faulty motherboards to unsuspecting customers. HP clearly are complete idiots!!! It's apparant that nothing short of the pending class actions suits will resolve this problem for affected customers. HP has proven themselves to be completely untrustworthy.

Glad I'm still not stuck, but hopefully the suit will go somewhere.

About a month ago I bought a e9280t model direct from HP and started using it couple of weeks later. When on, the computer runs fine, however, everyonce in a while it will not come out of sleep mode, while one of the fans is running in HIGH mode - you can hear it running from across the room. Spoke to tech support, replaced the graphics driver (ATI RADEON 4650). Problem disappeared for half a day and is back 24 hours later. Any suggestions? I do have a 5.24 BIOS installed on my computer.

You should check the revision sticker on the motherboard beside the memory slots. Just because you have the 5.24 BIOS this is not a guarantee you have the latest E01 motherboard, which could explain why your computer isn't coming out of sleep properly. This is one of the symptoms of the earlier revisions A05 and A07 that are defective.

You can also just use cpuid if you don't want to open the case.
http://www.cpuid.com/
Download version 1.53 with installer.
Run CPU-Z
Once installed, click on the Motherboard tab.
