RE: HP e9150/e9180 Computer Failures - Hanspuppa - 01-30-2010
Hello Guys, I am somewhat familuar with the class action lawsuits, of which there are two, and they appear to be going nowehere.
I have been in contact with certain people with respect to these lawsuits, and requested some updated information, and got none. Not even a reply. I had been getting replies earlier, and now they are ignoring me.
This should tell us a lot as to what is or is not happening.
It just looks fishy to me now.
So, anyone expecting anything from a class action lawsuit with respect to thes HP Elite Series computers, should start to look elsewhere, because it appears there will be nothing coming from them.

I haven't heard anything either. I'm just glad HP finally sent me a working system.
We just bricked our HP Media Smart Server trying to get it to work as advertised. It never did the things HP said it could do. Nothing but constant troubleshooting.
Lesson learned - HP NEVER AGAIN.
This website has been having problems due to the HP server it was put on. The hosting company is in the process of scraping it and moving everything to a new server. They're learning the same lesson.
HP is now nothing more than the lowest cost provider. They've reached that niche by putting the lowest quality, cheapest parts they can find. The power supply is always just barely able to boot the configuration ordered. Don't ever try to add anything else to an HP system.
Never again HP. From now on I'll build my own, it's more fun anyway. and you end up with a better system.

Hi guys, just want to let you know I had a BSOD last night. It happened when I got home from work and clicked on media center to watch recorded TV. There was no sound coming out of my bluetooth headphones so I went into bluetooth devices and clicked on run as administrator. The connect window came up and I clicked connect. The headphones came on for a second then blinked out. I clicked them on again and the same thing they came on then blinked out. I went back to devices and run as administrator and when I clicked connect again thats when it BSOD on me. I'm not to worried about as my e9150t has been running fine since it rebooted last night. It's not doing the classic freeze and so on. I know one thing for sure I don't want to ever send it back to HP for repair. I will keep you guy posted. It lasted for six months. I'm pretty sure it is just an isolated event so will wait and see.

If you go to C:\Windows\Minidum, can copy your most recent minidump log, I can tell you what triggered your BSOD event.

Hi guys, just checking in. Like I thought my e9150t is running fine. I did run the minidum thing but it comes up with a DMP I can't open. I really don't care what caused my BSOD. I think I just have a weak system that is temperamental and I can live with it. Thanks for the info and offer to help. If anything comes up I will let you all know.
RE: HP e9150/e9180 Computer Failures - Daddy - 02-13-2010
PCleery,
Often a BSOD can be the result of good ol' fashioned dirt. This is especially true if you place your system on the floor where it can become a very effective air filtration system that captures tons of dust, pet hair, and anything else that may result from exhaling airbourne recreational products (smoke).
I'm not implying any of this may apply in your particular (pun intended) case, but if you haven't done so, I would recommend buying a can of electronics compressed air, pop open the cover and give everything a good cleaning. I also give my system a reboot once a week just to make sure it hasn't suffered form "bit rot". I usually just sleep my system when not in use, but on Wed I check for recent updates, defrag the HD, run virus scan, and then do a reboot to keep everything in good shape.

PCLeery,
I have the correct tools to read the Dump. If you attach it to your next post I will tell you what's going on.

Hi guys, I had my third BSOD this morning. The only thing in common with them is that I was listening to music with Bluethooth headphones when they happened. Once while on line and the other with my on-board CD player. I opened it up but there was very little dust. So far no freeze-ups. If I can figure out how to attach I will send the DMP file.

PCleery,
Sorry to see you're having problems again. If you read my latest article on our home page, you'll see that your not alone. We've come to the conclusion that cost competition in the computer hardware industry has taken a heavy toll on quality.
If you use Outlook for your email client, you can just right click on the file, select Send to ... and then choose mail recipient. If you send it to TheWiz he can red the file and let you know what's goin on.

Yes, the minidump should only be 256K which can be found @ C:\Wwindows\Minidump. attach it to j0hns0n AT verizon DOT net
